Jason Crawford is the founder of the Roots of Progress Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to building a culture of progress and restoring a bold, ambitious vision of the future. He writes and speaks about the history and philosophy of progress, especially in technology and industry, and his book The Techno-Humanist Manifesto is forthcoming from MIT Press. His work has appeared in the MIT Technology Review, and he has been interviewed as a spokesman for the progress movement by the BBC and Vox, and given guest lectures at MIT. He is a Founding Fellow at the Cosmos Institute and an advisor to fellows at the Foresight Institute. Formerly a software engineering manager and startup founder, he was co-founder and CEO of Fieldbook and held engineering leadership roles at Flexport, Amazon, and Groupon.
